Ballumbie Golf Course

Ballumbie Castle Golf Course is set in Beautiful rolling Parkland and offers excellent views of the surrounding countryside. A parkland course based on the outskirts of Dundee, Ballumbie is an 18 Hole parkland course with a par of 69 and a length of 6012 yards.

Its terrain sweeps and turns with no two holes the same. Most clubs in the bag will be used but not necessarily a driver off every tee, especially for the first six holes of the course where position is more important than distance.

Before your round you can have tea, coffee and food from the clubhouse. After the round there is a varied menu for you to choose a meal from and also a well stocked bar for liquid refreshments.

If visiting, a locker room and showers are available.

This course is a great friendly place to play, perfect for outings or even just for a quiet game.

We are sure you will enjoy Ballumbie and once you have played here we are certain that you will return to play here again.

Course History

Ballumbie Castle Golf Club was opened in June 2000. The course has matured well in the years since.

There have been a couple of changes to the original layout, a few of the greens having been moved, new bunkers added and the trees that were planted in the early days have now matured nicely to give a better definition to the course.

Although only a par 69 and 6012 yards long don't be fooled into thinking this course is easy. 12 of the holes have out of bounds, large bunkers can be a problem for wayward shots, and most of the holes on the course are dog legs so position from the tee instead of distance should be a priority.

The greens on the course can be quick and have a lot of subtle breaks.

It's a tough starting 5 holes here. If you get through these 5 then you could be heading for a good round. The next tough stretch is 10-13 (Ballumbie's Amen Corner). Get through this section with a good score then you have every chance of playing to your handicap or better.

If you want to loosen your swing before your round then there is the driving range that you can use. Tokens can be purchased in the proshop adjacent.
